About

What Wagerguard actually does for an iGaming operator.

Most compliance work happens in the gap between what a regulator asks for and what a business can actually produce. Wagerguard sits in that gap — turning licensing requirements, audit findings, and control frameworks into steps an operations team can execute.

Where the experience comes from

Not one jurisdiction — ten-plus, spanning EU-regulated markets, offshore frameworks, and Malta's MGA.

The experience spans EU-regulated iGaming markets, offshore jurisdictions (Anjouan, Kahnawake, among others), and Malta — not one jurisdiction — direct compliance and licensing work across Curaçao, Brazil, Romania, Latvia, and South Africa. Malta's MGA framework carries particular weight, since roughly 80% of its requirements carry over into other markets, but the practice isn't built around any single regulator.

That work has included taking an MGA license application from a blank page to an approved operator, building AML, KYC, and responsible-gaming programs before any existed, and leading the compliance side of adding a new betting vertical onto an already-licensed platform. A feasibility study for entering Brazil's iGaming market — one of the least mature regulatory environments in the space — helped shape a real market-entry decision, not a slide deck.

On the technical side, the same team has served as Deputy Assessor on government-funded projects assessed against international regulatory frameworks — iGaming, NIST, and ISO among them — checking that security controls actually function day to day rather than just existing on paper. That work has also been delivered as a subcontractor to larger consulting and audit firms on their own client engagements.

What that means for your team

A licensing application that's ready the first time it reaches a regulator.

AML and KYC controls built around how your platform actually operates, not a generic template.

Audit prep that surfaces problems before an auditor does.

A straight answer on whether a gap is a real regulatory risk, or just noise.

Wagerguard is a growing practice — additional specialists across AML, fraud, and risk are joining as the team builds out.
